【Uterine Fibroid(=leiomyoma uteri)】

There are two surgical options for the condition of uterine fibroid.

1) Laparoscopic uterine fibroid enucleation
If you desire to preserve your uterus, this procedure is chosen.
In this surgery, only the uterine fibroids are removed.
Procedures
1: Inject vasopressin into uterus to reduce bleeding
2: Cut into the uterus and remove fibroids
3: Repair the uterine wall with sutures
4: Remove the fibroid through vagina or navel’s incision
5: Close the incisions

2) Laparoscopic total hysterectomy
The term hysterectomy is described as the removal of your uterus.
If you desire to have a radical treatment, this procedure will be appropriate.
Menopausal disorder is not induced by the hysterectomy when your ovaries are
preserved.
Procedures
1: Resect the uterus including fibroid as a whole from the adjacent tissues and take it
out through vagina
2: Close the vaginal stump and incisions with sutures

Generally, uterine fibroid enucleation requires a longer time of surgery, increased intraoperative blood loss, increased risk of postoperative rebleeding compared with total hysterectomy and have a risk of recurrence.
When you will be pregnant after the enucleation, Caesarian section is strongly recommended.
